titus.

So I am on this Titus kick right now. It's a short little book in the new testament, that I feel has so much wisdom. A lot of the things I have been struggling/dealing with this semester have been brought to my attention through this awesome three chapter book. The verse that spoke to me today was Titus 2:11 which says " For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and Godly lives in this present age while we wait for the blessed hope- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. " What is the grace of God? Well as my pastor so wisely puts it, it is when God decides to work in us and through us, despite us. What a blessing that no matter how massively we screw up, far we fall, low we sink, God is right there to give us a second chance. Not only that but by relying on him he shows us how to say no to worldly passions, which being in college can be so hard to do. If we turn our focus on him things start to come into perspective. The things of this world that we give such importance seem so obsolete compared to how much Christ loved us and we can begin to see what gives our life true meaning.
That being said I have been extremely blessed this past semester to have the best small group ever. These girls and I have become close friends and I love when monday nights role around and I get to hear abi and sarah's wisdom, annalise's heart and sometimes hilarious perspective on movies:), hear kayla's laugh and witnessing her gentle spirit, see mj's smile and marvel at the fact that she walks in the freeeeezzzzing cold from her house!, getting to know megan's quiet and gentle spirit, as well as getting to see jessie so intensely seeking the Lord and asking the tough questions. They all make my day repeatedly. I have been challenged by them all and even though we all bring something completely different to the table we all have a common bond in Christ. Which is the sweetest gift.
